About the Role

Factory Buys is seeking a skilled and hands-on SEO Specialist (freelance/contract or causal role) to support our organic growth strategy. This role is ideal for a results-driven SEO professional looking to make a direct impact with a high-growth eCommerce brand. You’ll work closely with the business owner and internal team across technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content strategy, and backlink acquisition.

This is a contract role, suited to someone who can work independently, bring new ideas to the table, and take ownership of SEO performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct technical SEO audits and implement improvements to enhance crawlability, indexation and site performance

Develop and execute a content-led SEO strategy aligned to our brand and growth goals

Optimise on-page elements including metadata, headings, internal linking and schema markup

Monitor organic performance, track keyword rankings and prepare actionable reporting

Identify backlink opportunities and contribute to link-building initiatives

Collaborate on improving existing high-performing content and advising on new content development

Support tactical SEO recommendations for product launches, campaigns and site enhancements

Ensure SEO best practices are implemented across Shopify site infrastructure

Skills & Experience

4+ years hands-on experience in SEO

Strong understanding of technical SEO, on-page optimisation and off-page tactics

Experience using SEO tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Bing Webmaster Tools

Proficiency in keyword research, metadata optimisation, internal linking, content hierarchy and performance tracking

Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and Shopify

Brisbane-based preferred

Able to self-manage, meet deadlines and take initiative
