The Role
The DFV Specialist working with Police is responsible for providing services directly to people who are experiencing Domestic and/or Family Violence. Due to new funding received, there are multiple roles available assisting victim-survivors alongside a Police response. The roles involve directly responding to clients who present in crisis, providing immediate support to clients requiring risk assessment, safety intervention and planning as well as urgent referral and follow up support. You will work collaboratively with Queensland Police Service (QPS), CFW team members and other agencies/organisations to develop appropriate and innovative responses to prevent violence within the Logan and Redlands regions.
Salary and Benefits
SCHADS Level 5.1 ($47.50 p/h)| Full-Time (38 Hours Per Week) | $93,860 annually
Multiple contracts available, for up to 5-years
Salary Packaging up to $15,900 (superannuation can be paid in addition to this, subject to any ATO limit if any).

Experience and Qualifications
Essential Tertiary Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, or human services (alongside relevant experience) received from a recognised university.
Preferred Tertiary Qualifications
Postgraduate qualification in counselling or social work
Essential Experience
Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of Domestic and Family Violence, and its effect on women, children and the wider community and demonstrated understanding of and experience working within current legislation (Domestic and Family Violence Act 2012).
Understanding of trauma-informed and feminist frameworks, with the ability to effectively apply them to support victim survivors.
Preferred Experience
Demonstrated experience and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

This role is available to start on:
28th July
18th August
We have set start dates for new team members so that they can undertake our supportive induction process with our Practice and Development Lead and Risk & Culture Officer. This process allows new team members to have set time to learn more about our organisation, our practice frameworks and set up all equipment and logins.
