About the position:

The Digital Transformation branch within the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is delivering a broad portfolio of digital initiatives to support the evolving needs of the NSW Parliament.

One of the key initiatives is the PIMS Evolution & Support program—a multi-year transformation to transition the bespoke Parliamentary Information Management System (PIMS), which underpins core parliamentary business functions, to a modern Software as a Service (SaaS) platform.

As the Testing Coordinator, you will play a critical hands-on role in managing end-to-end testing and quality assurance processes across these platforms. You’ll be responsible for coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT), managing defect resolution, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across a range of projects.

In addition to the PIMS uplift, you will contribute to testing efforts supporting a new enterprise Content Management System (CMS), ERP-related integration, and enhancements to existing systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work across several of Parliament’s most strategic digital programs, helping to shape the future of parliamentary operations.

About us:

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. Our office is found close to public transport in the heart of Macquarie Street CBD, next to the State Library and Sydney’s Botanic Gardens.

Enabling the Parliament, serving New South Wales: We demonstrate and foster in others a commitment to the five values of the Department of Parliamentary Services: collaboration, innovation, excellence, integrity and service.

Our commitment to diversity: We welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds and encourage women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+, people with disability, mature-age people, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply for this role.

Our people:

Our people have access to a range of benefits that help balance life at work and at home. Some of the benefits available when you join Parliament include:

  • Competitive salary and annual leave loading
  • 35-hour week and flexible work options
  • Corporate Wellbeing programs including seminars and Fitness Passport
  • Free annual Influenza vaccination
  • Salary packaging options via superannuation contributions or a novated vehicle lease
  • On-site fitness facilities, pool, restaurant, cafes, and post office

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in planning and delivering user acceptance testing (UAT) as part of ICT or business system projects. You’re comfortable working in agile or hybrid project environments, and able to collaborate with stakeholders including business users, product owners and technical teams to ensure effective testing outcomes.

Experience in developing test plans, tracking defects, and supporting overall quality assurance efforts is essential.

Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in IT or a related discipline are required.

Experience in modern testing environments including hybrid on-prem/SaaS systems, automation pipelines, and cloud-based testing practices is highly desirable.

If you're looking for a meaningful role where your testing skills contribute to impactful public sector projects, this is a great opportunity to support the systems that help Parliament serve the people of NSW.
