We are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to manage existing clients while establishing new relationships with clients predominantly across the fit-out and new build sector.

The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in growing our client’s market presence,
identifying and securing new business opportunities and fostering long-term client relationships.

As the BDM, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth in alignment with the company’s strategic direction, developing targeted sales strategies and contributing to the company’s reputation for integrity, innovation and quality.

As a senior member of the Sales team, you will uphold our client’s values while leading business development activities, mainly across the fit-out sector but also new build too.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving revenue growth and market expansion by developing strategic plans, generating new business from existing networks and building relationships with potential clients, and coordinating and attending networking events to strengthen industry relationships.
  • Further Managing and strengthening client relationships by coordinating with internal teams and Leading the development and management of strategic partnerships to drive business growth.
  • Submissions & Proposals: Draft high-quality submissions including methodology, draft tender program and risk assessment. Attend site inspections and tender briefings to inform bid strategy. Lead contract risk reviews in collaboration with legal and senior management.
  • Estimating & Commercial Insight: Work alongside the Estimating team to understand the methodology behind cost build-ups and pricing strategies. Interpret and communicate cost estimates effectively when engaging with clients and internal stakeholders and Support tender submissions by reviewing cost breakdowns and ensuring alignment with project scope and client expectations.

Key requirements:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or equivalent is preferred but not essential
  • 5-8 years practical experience in commercial construction.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in business development/sales, within a construction or related sector
  • Well versed in meeting or exceeding revenue targets and securing long-term clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess risk and profitability.
  • Proven ability to convert opportunities into secured business.
  • Strategic thinker, able to identify and secure opportunities.
  • Confident CRM user with familiarity in Pipedrive or similar tools.
  • Adaptable team player with leadership qualities and the ability to motivate others.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of sales, marketing and client retention processes.
