About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of research support at Curtin. As the Business & Systems Transformation Team Lead, you will lead the design, coordination and implementation of process, reporting and system improvements that drive excellence across our research services. In this influential role, you will champion business process improvement, streamline workflows and enhance engagement to deliver high-quality and efficient end user focused support.
Reporting to the Director, Research Services, you will partner closely with the Research Office Senior Management Group and a wide network of internal and external stakeholders. Together with your team of Business, Systems and Data Analysts, you’ll help strengthen Curtin’s position as a leader in research, ensuring we remain agile, innovative and ahead of the curve.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the planning and delivery of business and system transformation initiatives, regularly reviewing and prioritising activities to maximise impact and value.
- Manage the development of processes, guidelines, training and tools that support customers and research system users.
- Drive effective communication strategies to strengthen research systems management and support the rollout of future system and process enhancements.
- Provide leadership in developing systems, processes and support resources that improve the experience of customers and system users.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, navigating differing objectives and approaches to achieve successful outcomes.
We are looking for (selection criteria):
- Values-led leadership experience with a proven ability to initiate, lead and manage change in a complex, evolving research environment aligned to the University’s vision.
- Experience implementing best practices, driving continuous improvement, and delivering client-focused services that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strong team leadership and management skills, with the ability to foster an engaged, customer focused and high performing team culture.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence others, build productive relationships across diverse groups, and prepare high-quality reports and correspondence.
- Proven capability to negotiate and influence diverse stakeholder groups with competing interests in a changing environment.
- Experience working within a tertiary education environment.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
