Performance Creative Lead
Salt Shift
Posted 11 days ago
At Salt Shift, we’re not just building a brand — we’re creating a lifestyle for those who thrive on adventure, speed, and the ocean. As our Performance Creative Lead, you’ll be the creative force behind our most compelling ads and content. This role is perfect for someone who loves blending creativity with marketing and finds joy in producing content that resonates with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
This is a builder’s dream role — you’ll own the content lane and help define how Salt Shift shows up across every platform. We move fast, execute hard, and test everything. If you're excited to operate like a mini creative director and thrive in a “figure it out and get it done” environment, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
Create High-Impact Ads: From ideation to execution, you’ll develop performance-driven ads that captivate and convert. You’ll shoot, edit, and polish content using tools like Premier Pro or faster apps like CapCut, ensuring each piece aligns with our brand’s voice and goals.
Master Multiple Formats: Whether it’s short-form video for Meta, higher production value YouTube content, or engaging social media posts, you’ll be comfortable creating across multiple formats and platforms.
Own End-to-End Production: You'll manage everything from story-boarding and scripting to shooting and editing — including use of lighting setups and intermediate DSLR camera work.
On-Location Filming: Embrace the adventure by traveling to off-site locations for shoots — think boating, four-wheel driving, fishing, and camping. Your love for the outdoors will shine through in the content you create.
Work Directly with Paid Media: Partner closely with our media buyers and performance team to create and iterate on content that supports active campaigns. You’ll understand what converts and adapt quickly.
Test and Learn: Track creative performance, identify winners, and rapidly iterate. You’ll know how to read top-line ad metrics and adjust creative direction accordingly.
Fast-Paced Execution: Turn around multiple pieces of content each week — often with minimal input and lean resources. Self-filming, tripod setups, and editing on the fly are part of the job.
Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator and other team members to bring creative concepts to life. You’ll be part of the entire creative process, from brainstorming to final edits.
Stay Ahead of Trends: Keep a pulse on the latest social media and creative trends. You’ll know what hooks viewers, how to maintain watch time, and how to craft compelling CTAs that drive action.
Be a Lifestyle Champion: Your passion for the marine and outdoor lifestyle isn’t just a bonus — it’s essential. You’ll naturally understand what our audience cares about because you’re one of them. You should be just as comfortable on the back of a ski as you are behind a camera.
What We’re Looking For:
A strong visual eye and creative instinct — you know how to make things look good and feel right.
Confident shooting with DSLR and phone-based gear, managing lighting setups, and editing in fast-turnaround environments.
Hands-on experience creating short-form content for Meta (Facebook & Instagram), with a solid understanding of what drives clicks, conversions, and scroll-stopping attention.
Excellent grasp of storytelling and visual pacing — especially in the 3-second world of ads.
Ability to self-manage and take initiative, while collaborating fluidly with a tight-knit team.
Real connection to the lifestyle — you love boats, beaches, fishing, or off-roading and can capture it authentically.
Minimum Skills:
Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools that speed up content production
Strong knowledge of Meta platform ad formats and best practices
Ability to storyboard, shoot, and edit short-form vertical video
Intermediate DSLR skills, including basic lens work and lighting setups for higher production content
Comfortable working on-location with minimal setup
Understanding of hooks, CTAs, and storytelling for direct-response advertising
Familiarity with basic creative analytics and performance KPIs
Competence with cloud file sharing and basic digital asset management tools
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with paid social ad testing or working alongside performance marketers
Portfolio or examples of content that has delivered strong performance results
Animation, motion graphics or After Effects skills
Drone footage or underwater shooting experience
Why Join Salt Shift:
You’ll be on the front line of a growing eCommerce brand with real ambition.
Your creative will be seen, tested, and iterated on — fast.
You’ll work directly with marketers and founders — no red tape.
You’ll have creative freedom and real ownership.
You’ll be part of a team that values creativity, speed, and lifestyle alignment.
You’ll have the freedom to experiment, explore, and make your mark on how SaltShift shows up to the world.
This isn’t a role for those chasing creative industry awards. It’s a hands-on, execution-first position grounded in performance, built to drive business growth, and inspired by impact — not ego.
This isn’t just another content job. It’s for someone who wants to live the brand, not just work for it.
