JYAC is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Mobilisation & Logistics Manager to lead operations in Port Hedland and the surrounding Pilbara region. This senior role is vital to fulfilling our RNTBC obligations and achieving our long-term strategic goals. You will be the face of JYAC on the ground, ensuring our heritage, ranger, and commercial programs are effectively mobilised and supported.
About the Role
The Mobilisation & Logistics Manager oversees the day to day running of JYAC’s Port Hedland workshop and warehouse. You will coordinate fieldwork logistics, maintain safe and efficient operations, and provide on the ground leadership for JYAC’s economic development initiatives.
This position plays a key role in:
Driving community-led economic opportunity,
Supporting heritage and land management programs,
Building strong relationships with Martu members, contractors, and mining partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate staff for fieldwork mobilisation/demobilisation, including pre-trip briefings and safety compliance.
Manage JYAC vehicles, equipment, and workshop infrastructure.
Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, and maintenance.
Support the delivery of heritage surveys, ranger programs and monitoring activities.
Foster positive engagement with Martu community members.
Act as the senior JYAC representative onsite and in the region.
Identify new economic opportunities and support local enterprise.
Collaborate with mining and industry partners for on-Country activities.
Maintain a clean, safe and compliant workspace, including WHS audits.
Provide logistical support for community events, on-Country meetings and cultural programs.
Contribute to a respectful, inclusive and cooperative team environment.
About You
Strong background in logistics, field operations, or workshop management.
Experience working in regional or remote settings, preferably with Aboriginal communities.
Excellent coordination, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
Commitment to workplace health and safety and systems improvement.
Hands-on and practical, with the ability to carry out basic equipment maintenance.
Comfortable being a key point of contact and community liaison.
Current Driver’s Licence (essential), HR or 4WD licence (desirable).
Understanding of Martu culture or willingness to learn through engagement.
