We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to lead the setup and ongoing management of a new quarantine-approved facility in Naval Base, WA.

This is an exciting opportunity to build something from the ground up — establishing compliance, driving efficiency, and helping to grow a new business stream within a trusted and well-resourced organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead the setup of a new DAFF-approved (Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry) biosecurity facility

Develop and implement compliance procedures, biosecurity manuals, and operational systems

Oversee infrastructure readiness and ensure all regulatory requirements are met

Liaise with federal and state departments, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders

Monitor budgets, KPIs, and overall operational performance

Proactively identify and develop new commercial opportunities

What you’ll bring:

3+ years’ experience in operations, compliance, or facility coordination roles

Strong knowledge of biosecurity, quarantine, or import/export regulations

Excellent stakeholder engagement and planning skills

Advanced Microsoft Office and reporting capability

Commercial mindset and ability to lead autonomously

Highly regarded:

Previous involvement in setting up a quarantine-approved or biosecurity facility

Certificate IV in Government (Border Protection) or related training

Experience in logistics, warehousing or supply chain environments
