The Opportunity

A leading retail business is seeking an FP&A Analyst to join their growing finance team. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this newly created role offers a strong development opportunity for a motivated finance professional ready to move beyond traditional accounting into a commercially focused planning and analysis position.

This is an ideal opportunity for an Assistant Accountant with prior retail experience, looking to step into a broader commercial finance role and gain hands-on exposure to planning, forecasting and business performance analysis in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Challenge

As FP&A Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the forecasting and budgeting cycles across departments and stores
• Preparing financial and non-financial reports for performance tracking and business decision-making
• Producing P&L reports and variance analysis for stores and departments
• Assisting with the preparation of weekly and monthly sales reports and dashboards
• Working with operational teams to provide insights into key drivers of performance and trends
• Supporting ad hoc analysis as required by senior stakeholders

The Expertise

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:

• Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• At least 2 years’ experience in a finance role, ideally as an Assistant Accountant or Analyst
• Prior experience in the retail industry and a sound understanding of operational drivers
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and transactional finance flows
• Solid MS Excel skills
• Attention to detail with a commercial and analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive attitude with the ability to work across teams and meet deadlines
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting or financial reporting processes is advantageous
