The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Records Supervisor to provide a critical role at Corrections Victoria.
About the Business Unit
Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum-security prison focussed on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody. Western Plains features multi-purpose infrastructure which is adaptable to the evolving needs of Corrections Victoria and the people in our care. Modern amenities include medical wards, a cultural centre, and vocational training facilities.

About the Role
This role is part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team, a team dedicated to delivering essential corporate and ancillary services support to prison operational teams and prisoners. Leveraging the technical ability and professional expertise of trained subject matter experts, the team supports the smooth functioning of prison operations while prioritising prisoner rehabilitation and safety.
Some of your duties will include:
- Monitor workload of team and individuals, understanding output and capacity
- Provide leadership, mentoring, training, professional development and performance management to ensure team are well supported.
- Ensure all procedures and processes relevant to the team are compliant with legislative and organisational requirements including undertaking regular audits of operations and oversee accurate investigations of non-compliances managing the implementation of remedial actions.
- Provide accurate and timely advice to staff, management, prisoners, clients and stakeholders in relation to Prisoner Records deliverables

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Exceptional computer skills with the ability to design electronic tools to gain efficiencies in processes, providing more accurate data and reducing duplication.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of PIMS, E-Justice, Appointy, Outlook and SharePoint in a custodial operational setting is desirable
