Position Title: Finance Manager / Financial Controller
Reports to: CFO
Term: Full Time Permanent, working virtually with some in person team events
We are a team of progressive virtual CFOs who work with fast paced start-ups and scale-ups Companies. We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our team and work with our growing client portfolio. This role is broad ranging, and you will be focusing on different priorities with competing deadlines.
Reporting to the CFO, your role will utilise your communication skills and proactive approach to deliver GRAM’s continued high-quality outcomes for our clients. Your primary objective is to help manage the financial control, monthly business reporting, and process improvements and systems changes within our portfolio of clients.
Primary Objective
You will assist in the support of the financial control and accounting operations for clients within our portfolio. You will assist in the month end close, preparation of monthly results reports, implement continuous improvement, and ensure all compliance requirements are met within our client portfolio. You will work closely with the leadership team of our clients, as well as both the management team and the team accountants within Gram to deliver a high level of service.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
Reporting & Financial control for portfolio clients
Implement financial control processes and ensure ongoing compliance
Manage month end reporting procedures
Prepare monthly management results reports (includes financial and non-financial)
Results analysis of key financial and non financial information
Assist in managing year end procedures for company tax/external audit, as well as statutory compliance
Assist in preparation of government grant applications as required (e.g R&D and EMDG)
Assist in preparation of forecast and budget models and ongoing updates
Ensure compliance requirements are met (ATO, State Revenue Office, Workcover)
Manage client accounts receivables and payables processes
Manage client payroll processes and compliance requirements
Communication and client management
Strong communication skills
Ability to build the confidence and engagement of CFOs, Financial Controllers, and accountants, as well as portfolio clients
Ability to build a strong rapport and trust with our clients
Continuous communication and transparency around workflows, prioritisation, and roadblocks
Process Improvement
Understand current workflows and ensure alignment across portfolio clients
Implement continuous process improvement of key workflows
Help manage GRAM workflow management tool and ensure the team are aligned to the key goals and activities within your client portfolio
Key Stakeholders
Internal – CFOs, Financial Controllers, and Accountants
External – GRAM portfolio clients (Founders, Leadership team)
Reports to - Team CFOs
Number of direct reports - Nil, however, you will work closely with the accounting team
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
CA or CPA qualified with 5+ years of post-qualified experience in a corporate and/or professional services environment
Demonstrated experience in managing virtual and/or onsite teams and stakeholders
Strong communication skills with a track-record in gaining the confidence of clients and ability to build strong working relationships
Demonstrated aptitude for enhancing business processes
Ability to manage competing priorities across client deliverables
Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
A can-do attitude with the team at the centre of your thinking
Well organised and process orientated
Proven ability to train and develop junior team members
Effective time management skills
Xero or similar experience preferred
Intermediate to advanced excel skills
Hours
5 days per week, across the working week for hours that best suit you. If you are looking for part-time, we would love to hear from you too, we can shape this role to accommodate.
Location
This role will mostly be performed virtually. As a team we meet in person, at least quarterly to share knowledge and provide continuous training. You will need to be prepared for limited travel when required.
Salary and Benefits
This role is full time with flexible work hours.
$130K - $150K + super depending on experience.
