Our client is a Global company seeking a skilled Assistant Accountant to join their team permanently in Melbourne's inner suburbs. The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, assisting with period-end reporting, and managing compliance tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare general journals for accruals, cost allocation, and other reporting requirements.
• Reconcile the general ledger, balance sheets, and intercompany balances.
• Analyse expenses to meet tax compliance requirements.
• Assist with reporting, tax filings, and audit compliance.
• Prepare FBT calculations, BAS returns, and manage corporate credit cards
• Handle ATO lodgements, including Payment Times reporting
• Support the preparation of annual financial statements and income tax schedules.
• Collaborate with team members and managers on other ad hoc tasks as needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Degree & CA/CPA qualification or working towards certification preferred.
• At least 4 years of practical accounting experience
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables).
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities, and organisational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
