Junior Draftsperson

What you will do:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Draftsperson to join our Building Design team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who is passionate about design and is ready to begin their career in residential construction. You will be mentored by senior staff and will assist in the preparation of architectural plans for a variety of construction projects from office pods & studios to house extensions & small secondary dwellings. This is a full-time role located at our Mentone office.

Key Responsibilities of the role will be:

· Learning how real residential construction comes together—and how your drawings help make it happen

· Using ArchiCAD to provide concept and working drawings for clients and internal teams; within required time frames

· Ensuring all drawings are completed with 100% accuracy to reflect client and council requirements as well as in accordance with Humpy Co’s standards

· Liaising with internal teams, councils, engineers and other third-party consultants to obtain relevant documentation and approvals

· Attending client site visits to gather all required site information

Qualifications / Skills required:

· Genuine interest in residential construction and how homes are built

· Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities over time

· Basic understanding of the BCA, Australian Standards, and local planning regulations.

· Certificate IV in Residential Drafting or a Diploma of Building Design or higher

· Some experience with ArchiCAD, or strong motivation to learn it quickly

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

· Clear communicator, comfortable receiving feedback and asking questions

· Reliable, motivated and eager to grow with a supportive team

· Willingness to undergo relevant training and development to understand our unique Humpy system.
