FOI Advisers (NV1 Clearance Essential) - Daily rate $720 to $1330 inc super - Initial 12 month secondment - Canberra Location

The Role

Our client is seeking experienced Freedom of Information (FOI) Advisers to work on secondment with a high profile federal government department, processing and making decisions on requests for access to documents under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act).

The Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be required to:

undertake processing of FOI requests and requests for internal review in accordance with the FOI Act and our client’s FOI Business Rules;

manage reviews of our client’s FOI decisions by the OAIC, including the drafting of submissions;

provide expert legal and strategic advice related to a wide range of high-profile FOI matters for our client, Ministers and whole-of-government stakeholders;

liaise and engage with key stakeholders including other government agencies; and

undertake research on complex subject matters and distil information into clear and concise written products.

The Requirements

Previous experience working as an FOI Officer Adviser in a federal government department and an NV1 clearance is essential.
