WA Health is committed to growing the Aboriginal workforce as a part of WA Health’s Aboriginal Workforce Policy. As a measure to achieve equality, Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 applies to this position. Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply.

About PathWest: With over 2,600 employees across an extensive range of pathology and support services, PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA is committed to providing excellence and innovation in pathology testing, teaching and research. We offer a round-the-clock commitment to the health needs of the entire WA community through our laboratory facilities, collection centres, results lines and on-call clinicians. Our pathology services cover the broadest range of routine, complex and rare tests, and our active teaching, research and pathology development programs assist not only in enhancing diagnostic accuracy but also in improving the understanding of disease processes and of clinical care.

About the role: We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Team Leader who will lead the team of human resource and medical workforce practitioners to provide a tactical and operational contemporary human resource service within PathWest. They will contribute to the development and achievement of operational and strategic outcomes from PathWest Human Resources as a whole. They will ensure PathWest workforce management and planning processes are congruent with the whole-of-health governance framework and meet all compliance & accountability requirements.

To find out more about the role: Please contact Elizabeth Kempton on 0439 989 693.

For the full duties and role requirement: Please see the attached Job Description Form.

WA Health is committed to eliminating all forms of discrimination in the provision of our service. We embrace diversity and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally diverse backgrounds and people with disabilities.

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour. Please note that adverse information does not necessarily disqualify an applicant but will be considered as part of the appointment process.

Please note this recruitment process requires completion of satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA). Any offer of employment with PathWest is conditional on satisfactory PEHA to ensure you are able to perform the inherent requirements of the position. An unsatisfactory PEHA will result in the offer of employment being withdrawn.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

What we offer: In addition to the great salary our employees enjoy an amazing range of benefits which may include:

  • Access to generous salary packaging arrangements. Including:
  • Up to $9010 on a range of benefits such as mortgage, your rent or other everyday living expenses
