About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Human Resources Advisor to join our dynamic team at Mens Outreach Services Aboriginal Corporation (MOSAC). The Human Resources Advisor will work with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Team Leaders to provide expert Human Resources (HR) guidance and support for the organisation and ensure that all line managers understand and are supported in their employee management responsibilities. The role supports the CEO and SLT to ensure that MOSAC continues to manage its operations efficiently and effectively, without compromising the delivery of quality services for its clients. The role will contribute to the engagement of staff and growth of the organization, in line with the strategic direction of the SLT and Board of Directors. The role will additionally contribute to the effective management of the workforce, by ensuring that the relevant Award, Agreements and MOSAC workplace policies are clearly articulated and implemented across all teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high quality and expert HR advice to the MOSAC Senior Leadership Team in a variety of formats
Provide guidance and direction to MOSAC staff in relation to HR matters, and distribute up to date HR information as required
Keep up to date with changes to relevant legislation (eg to ATO requirements, Superannuation, Awards), support the development of MOSAC's HR policies and procedures and monitor staff compliance
Provide responsive support and coaching to MOSAC line managers on policy matters relating to workforce management including recruitment, retention, employee performance, teamwork, organisational structure, industrial matters, and resolution of grievances, disciplinary matters and complaints
Participate in decision making and consultative processes relating to HR management within the organisation
Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic HR plans, policies and procedures that support MOSAC's vision, values and business priorities
Use highly developed communication skills to ensure a professional, culturally safe and efficient approach to problem solving
Create and maintain a culture that supports high levels of staff engagement and performance, by role modelling the organisation's values
Co-ordinate and deliver the organisation's retention and recognition program and workplace wellbeing strategies
What We’re Looking For
The successful applicant will have the following:
Tertiary qualifications in HR management or equivalent with experience in relevant HR roles
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, TEAMS, Excel, Power point), record management systems and databases
A current National Police Clearance (prior to commencement)
A current valid WA driver's licence
Ability to undertake all training as required by MOSAC
Desirable
Governance and / or Workplace Health & Safety qualifications or experience
Ability to communicate effectively in the Kimberley cultural context
An understanding of culturally informed approaches to working including trauma-informed and lived experience
Well-developed knowledge of the community services sector, including not-for-profit organisations
Selection Criteria
Proven ability to interpret and advise on industry awards, agreements and relevant legislation, and develop, interpret and successfully implement HR policies strategies and projects
Demonstrated experience and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, working respectfully and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff
High-level written communication, relationship building and negotiation skills
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend strategies, ideas and opportunities for resolving them
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an effective, positive team member, setting priorities, achieving deadlines with a high level of initiative and self-motivation

Well-developed risk management skills, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to strategic and complex problems and issues
What we offer
$111,703 - 119,054 per annum, pro rata (12 month contract with possibility of extension), 5 weeks Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading, SGC superannuation, Not for Profit generous Salary packaging which includes remote housing benefits, Anniversary payment after 12 months of employment, additional 3 days leave at Christmas and 2 days Mental Health leave, option for a 9-day fortnight, access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and study opportunities.
