About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeping Practice Manager to lead our team and manage day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing staff management with technical bookkeeping and BAS responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, mentor, and support a current team of 4 bookkeepers to achieve high performance and client satisfaction
Assist directors with workflow allocation and task management to ensure timely BAS, IAS, payroll, and compliance lodgements
Assist directors with managing the CRM, ensuring data accuracy and effective task tracking
Review and finalise bookkeeping work for clients across multiple industries
Assist directors to prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements
Build strong client relationships and act as the key contact for escalations and advisory queries
Assist to implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability
Report to the directors on staff performance, workflow progress, and client service standards
Assist with onboarding new clients and staff
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including BAS Agent obligations
About You
Minimum 5 years’ bookkeeping experience.
Experience in a leadership or management role within a bookkeeping or accounting practice preferred.
Registered BAS Agent (essential)
Strong knowledge of GST, payroll, and general bookkeeping
Experienced in managing staff and fostering a positive team environment
Confident using cloud accounting software (Xero preferred as almost all clients are on Xero) Karbon and Ignition knowledge is favourable.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with staff and clients
Process-driven with a focus on continuous improvement

Location
We have two offices.
One located in Rosebud and one located in Berwick.
The expectation is that the successful candidate is willing to travel to both locations where required.
