We’re looking for a BAS Agent who can manage both the operational side of the business and the day-to-day bookkeeping, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
The Role
We are seeking a Part-Time Practice Manager with BAS Agent credentials who is comfortable managing internal operations and also working directly with numbers. This role combines client management, team coordination, and hands-on bookkeeping with a particular focus on BAS compliance and lodgment.
You will play a critical role in supporting our team, managing workflows, and ensuring client deadlines are met. You’ll also be responsible for performing or overseeing bookkeeping tasks, particularly related to BAS and GST obligations, to ensure clients stay compliant with tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management: Oversee team schedules, task allocation, and internal communications
Client Onboarding & Support: Coordinate onboarding for new clients, ensure they have all necessary information, and manage ongoing client relationships
BAS & GST Compliance: Prepare, review, and lodge BAS returns on behalf of clients Bookkeeping: Perform or review daily bookkeeping tasks, including:
Bank reconciliations
Accounts payable & receivable
Payroll processing
GST calculations and reporting
Team Support: Monitor team deadlines, manage workflows, and ensure deliverables are met
Internal Systems & Processes: Streamline and improve internal bookkeeping and operational workflows
Reporting: Regular updates and reports to the business owner on the status of client accounts, tax filings, and team performance
What We’re Looking For
✅Certified BAS Agent with valid registration
✅ Proven experience in bookkeeping and BAS preparation (2+ years preferred)
✅ Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws, GST, and BAS lodgment processes
✅ Proficient in cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, etc.)
✅ Experience in managing operations, team coordination, or administrative tasks
✅ Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and financial data
✅ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
✅ Ability to work independently in a remote environment
✅ A proactive, problem-solving attitude
