Posted 22 hours ago
Are you ready to support transformative infrastructure projects that shape the future of the City of Canning? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to come onboard and support the delivery of major infrastructure projects as we look to continue to make the City of Canning a welcoming and thriving community for all.
About the role
Our Project Leader Major Projects is a key contributor in supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of major infrastructure projects. You’ll help implement project management processes, help keep projects on track and assist in a wide variety of assessments and reports to name just a few things this role will be across.
You may have noticed a few roles we have advertised in our Project space and that’s because there is an exciting and newly formed Project Management Office that you will be joining. So, if you’re ready to make a lasting impact on the future of the City of Canning, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
In conjunction with the Service Lead and Senior Project Leader you will be a key team member in supporting the coordination and delivery of major infrastructure projects across the City, including the Canning City Centre Urban Regeneration Program. Some other exciting projects you will be involved in include the Civic Precinct development and the evolving Rail to River Precinct Project, the Canning Vale Sports Complex, and the redevelopment of indoor courts at Riverton, plus other place-making projects.
You will be a trusted source of professional advice for stakeholders in coordinating information related to infrastructure projects.
There won’t be much you aren’t across, whether this is managing a procurement process, overseeing project contracts, developing communications plans and/or assisting with a number of council and committee focussed reports, you will have oversight over many areas.
What you will bring to the role:
An ‘all-rounder’ style mindset. As mentioned above there’s a wide range of areas we need you to be across and you’ll be able to adapt to each one.
You’ll have gained this mindset in part from having a minimum of five years’ practical experience complemented with tertiary qualification/s in urban planning, project management, architecture, civil engineering or related discipline.
You are able to seamlessly shift from working autonomously and working in a team. The needs of this role are very fluid, and we will need the same flexibility from you.
Consummate communication skills; your ability to engage with stakeholders from all levels is critical to this role.
While not essential if you are familiar with the below, these would be particularly useful in this role:
The nuances of operating in a Local Government space and;
The TechnologyOne™ - OneCouncil enterprise system.
