Project Manager (Steel Fabrication) - Join Our Team

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in structural steel/plate work fabrication? Drillmech, a well-established manufacturing company based in Perth, is seeking a Project Manager to join our Fabrication team.

Essential Expertise: Bring your in-depth knowledge of structural steel/plate work and bucket fabrication, a critical requirement for this role.

Direct Reporting: Work closely with the Operations Manager - Fabrication, contributing directly to project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret Drawings: Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for steel fabrication projects.

Source Materials: Identify and procure the necessary materials for each project, ensuring timely availability.

Create Estimates: Develop precise cost estimates for steel fabrication work, considering labor, materials, and time.

Project Coordination: Liaise with purchasing and workshop teams to ensure seamless project progression and completion.

MDR Preparation: Prepare Manufacturing Data Reports (MDRs) in accordance with customer specifications and company standards.

3D Scanning: Conduct 3D scanning of components when required (training provided).

Create Basic Drawings: Generate basic technical drawings to support project needs.

Drafting Liaison: Collaborate with the drafting team to create detailed assembly drawings for components.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.

Experience in steel fabrication and project coordination.

Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiarity with Autocad or other CAD technologies

Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
