About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Internal Company Accountant to manage our day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in MYOB, a solid understanding of BAS preparation, and ATO compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring our financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with Australian tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts using MYOB.

· Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS).

· Ensure timely and accurate ATO reporting including PAYG, GST, and Superannuation.

· Manage accounts payable and receivable.

· Process payroll and ensure compliance with Fair Work and ATO requirements.

· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

· Prepare financial reports and support budgeting and forecasting activities.

· Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and the ATO as required.

· Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Key Requirements

· Proven experience as an accountant or bookkeeper in a similar role.

· Proficiency in MYOB (AccountRight or Essentials).

· Experience with payroll processing and STP (Single Touch Payroll).

· Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations, including BAS and ATO compliance.

· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Desirable

· Familiarity with other accounting software (e.g., SAP, Xero, QuickBooks) is a plus.

· CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
