About the Opportunity

The Cowarra Water Supply Scheme and Thrumster Wastewater Scheme are two of largest projects PMHC will deliver over the next decade, as the region's reliance on water and sewer capacity grows in line with its rapidly rising population. With a combined estimated total Capital Investment Value of over $250Million and a tight timeframe, these two projects will transform water and wastewater services for our community for the next 30 years. These projects include the delivery of the required treatment plants and a significant network component with 18km of large diameter water mains which will need to cross State Highways, interconnections to live existing networks, 8 Sewer Pump Station upgrades, 12.6km of new sewer rising mains and approximately 500m of gravity mains reconfigurations. The estimated total cost of these network projects is between $50M - $100M.

To ensure we can deliver these significant projects on time for the community, we are looking for the Major Projects Leadwho can drive execution and coordination of complex infrastructure delivery through detailed design and construction and lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve outcomes that meet technical, operational, environmental, and community expectations.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree level qualifications or equivalent experience in Project Management, Engineering or Construction Management (or relatable discipline) along with previous experience in managing large infrastructure construction contracts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, contractors, government agencies, and the community.
  • Skilled in building and leading a highly experienced professional team to achieve the full program of works, through direct line and functional line management.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges, assess risks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Skilled in managing competing priorities and resolving issues constructively with contractors and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Understanding of contract management, procurement processes, and budget oversight in large-scale infrastructure projects.

On a typical day this role will:

  • Lead the team for the planning and delivery of these major infrastructure projects, ensuring milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to manage project risks and resolve issues.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies and the community, to ensure transparent and collaborative project delivery.
  • Oversee contract performance, procurement processes, and compliance with regulatory and safety requirements through the construction and commissioning of complex infrastructure.
  • Conduct site visits and reviewing technical documentation to monitor construction progress and quality.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and updates for senior leadership and project governance groups.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary Contract (30 June 2028)

Salary: Starting range of $167,024 to $185,676 (including vehicle allowance and other award entitlements) depending on skills and experience PLUS Superannuation of 12%

Performance based increase based on exceeding goals available after 12 months.

Relocation assistance is available, and additional incentives may be considered.
