The City of Parramatta is leading the major cultural transformation of the City with the Reimagining of Riverside Theatres and the development of Western Sydney's newest Arts and Cultural Precinct.

This is your opportunity to join the team leading the delivery of this project as a member of the business readiness and transition team, driving the project to reimagine and relaunch one of Western Sydney's premier cultural institutions in late 2028. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Project Manager, Business Transition to lead governance, philanthropy, and transition planning for the redevelopment. This is a high-impact role that leads strategic transformation, oversees key workstreams, and supports the delivery of a world-class performing arts centre.

Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Riverside Theatres, the successful candidate will manage the exploration and development of the future performing arts centre's governance model, oversee the project coordination and consultants for capital fundraising programs, and serve as Client-Side Project Integration Lead on the redevelopment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the exploration, development and delivery of the strategic transition to the future governance model and operating entity.
  • Serve as the Client-Side Project Integration Lead for the Riverside Redevelopment Project, coordinating all internal workstreams and ensuring operational readiness for reopening in mid-2028.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of business, governance, staffing, and venue transition to a new operational model.
  • Support the Director, Riverside Theatres in the management of philanthropy consultants and capital fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project plan, aligning operational, legal, financial, and digital readiness to project milestones.
  • Engage with a broad range of stakeholders to support a successful organisational transformation and cultural change process.

About you

We are looking for a leader with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Arts Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years' senior-level experience in the arts, cultural or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Company Limited by Guarantee structures, DGR/ACNC compliance, and experience/knowledge of philanthropy and capital raise programs in the arts.
  • Experience leading governance and operational transition programs, particularly involving legal and regulatory reform.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills across multi-disciplinary teams and consultants.
  • Strong values-based leadership and a passion for cultural development and organisational transformation.

What's on offer:

This is a 2-year term contract position aligned with the Riverside Redevelopment Project.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $173,215 to $192,032 plus 12% Superannuation.
