About the Role

As Manager, Workforce Innovation, you’ll lead the design and delivery of agile, future-focused training initiatives that respond directly to industry demand. From piloting micro-credentials and vocational degrees to accelerating scalable reform projects, you’ll ensure innovation is embedded in everything we do.

You’ll work at the intersection of workforce insight, system design, and delivery, translating sector intelligence into practical, policy-aligned solutions that support national VET reform. Reporting to the Executive Director, Training and Workforce Innovation, you’ll engage deeply with industry stakeholders, RTOs, and delivery partners to develop, test, and scale new models across the mining and automotive sectors.

Key Focus Areas

Design and deliver pilots, micro-credentials, and new training models aligned with workforce and system priorities

Collaborate with RTOs, employers, and advisory panels to co-design and validate innovation projects

Identify and respond to workforce capability gaps using labour market and industry intelligence

Manage the innovation pipeline, ensuring clear pathways to accredited products and sustained delivery

Develop business cases and performance metrics for innovation initiatives

Work closely with PMO, product, and engagement teams to ensure reform readiness and seamless implementation

About You

You’re a strategic innovator with a passion for vocational training and workforce development. With a strong grasp of co-design, agile delivery, and systems thinking, you thrive in dynamic environments and bring ideas to life with clarity, collaboration, and purpose.

You bring:

Proven experience designing and delivering workforce or VET innovation initiatives

Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills

An understanding of training product development, workforce trends, and system reform

Experience navigating regulated training environments and working with RTOs, employers, or government

Excellent project management and communication skills

Desirable:

Knowledge of mining and/or automotive sector workforce needs

Experience developing micro-credentials, vocational degrees, or pilot programs

Familiarity with the Jobs and Skills Council ecosystem or national VET reform initiatives
