Lead With Culture, Vision & Purpose

Be the Change. Build the Future. Honour a Legacy.

Are you ready to lead a dynamic First Nations organisation where culture, community and opportunity come together?

Wajarri Yamaji Aboriginal Corporation (WYAC) is inviting a bold, visionary, and culturally grounded leader to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – a once-in-a-career opportunity to guide one of Western Australia’s most respected Aboriginal corporations through a pivotal era of growth, strength, and transformation.

Based in Geraldton – a thriving coastal city on Yamatji Country, known for its striking red earth, ancient landscapes, and deep cultural roots – you’ll live and work in a region where stories are sacred, Country speaks, and your leadership can make a generational impact.

About WYAC

As the RNTBC for the Wajarri Yamaji People, WYAC exists to protect and progress the rights, heritage, and aspirations of our community. From economic development to cultural revitalisation, from governance to grassroots initiatives, WYAC is proud to lead with heart, strength and integrity.

WYAC is part of a group that includes:

WWBL – which administers the Wajarri Yamaji General and Charitable Trusts

Wajarri Enterprises Ltd (WEL) – the commercial arm creating income-producing enterprises to benefit community members

This unique, integrated corporate structure—blending legal, financial, cultural and commercial capabilities—sets WYAC apart. The CEO role doesn’t just lead a Native Title organisation: you’ll guide a fully integrated ecosystem that:

Protects native title rights and cultural heritage

Manages investment and trust-based funding sustainably

Builds businesses supporting community prosperity

Serves thousands of community members with tailored programs and initiatives

What You’ll Gain

Executive Salary Package tailored to your experience

Generous Salary Sacrifice Options – take home more pay

5 Weeks Annual Leave + 10 Days Cultural Leave

Relocation Assistance and Rent Subsidy – support for the right candidate

Superannuation & Full Entitlements

Car with full Private use

Unparalleled Purpose – drive impact across generations and make a real difference

Your Role

Reporting to a committed and forward-thinking Board, the CEO will:

Champion WYAC’s strategic vision and community priorities

Lead a culturally safe, inclusive and high-performing team

Foster strong relationships with Traditional Owners, community, government and partners

Ensure good governance, accountability, and risk oversight

Drive innovation, economic development, and long-term sustainability

Represent WYAC in high-level forums, negotiations and public engagements

Who You Are

A proven senior leader – ideally with experience in First Nations organisations or complex stakeholder environments

Culturally informed and committed to self-determination and respect

Skilled in governance, strategic planning, and organisational leadership

Adept at engaging, listening and negotiating across diverse groups

Hold tertiary qualifications in Business, Management or related fields

Strong financial and commercial skills

AICD or Governance Institute qualifications preferable

Aboriginal and Torres Strait candidates are encouraged to apply

Why This Role?

This is more than a leadership position — you’ll be part of something bigger. You’ll play a central role in honouring Wajarri Yamaji identity and culture, building sustainable futures, expanding opportunity for our people, and ensuring community voices remain at the heart of every decision.

How to Apply

Send your resume and a cover letter that tells us how you align with WYAC’s values and vision to Application [email protected] or Seek Portal.
