The Role:
The Manager Clinical Practice – Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a senior leadership role within Ambulance Tasmania, focused on delivering high-quality patient care through clinical leadership, education, and innovation. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Clinical and Professional Practice, the role oversees the development of evidence-based guidelines, models of care, and quality improvement initiatives across paramedic, volunteer, and patient transport officer practice areas. It also supports research, clinical audits, and safety programs, while maintaining clinical competence. Working closely with education teams, regional operations, and external partners, the Manager drives continuous improvement and helps shape the future of EMS practice in Tasmania.
You will need:
- Extensive knowledge of ambulance operations, technology and patient care guidelines with demonstrated understanding of patient safety and quality assurance processes, specifically relating to critical care and retrieval within the ambulance sector.
- Ability to identify, develop and drive quality improvement strategies relating to the incumbent’s portfolio utilising evidence-based principles to ensure safe and effective clinical care.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills including written, liaison and facilitation skills with the ability to develop constructive relationships with key stakeholders, including Operations, Education and Professional Development, Technical Services and Finance.

Details of appointment:
Fixed Term full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 1 June 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $150,796 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
