About the role
Mater Private Hospital Redland is excited to offer an opportunity for a Registered Nurses looking to make the move into the field of oncology. This is a unique opportunity where we can accommodate flexibility by offering a roster that suits your needs. The unit operates Tuesday to Friday, from 8:30am to 5:30pm, and we are open to discussing hours of work that suit you. Successful candidates will secure Permanent Part-Time employment, working either a 0.4 or 0.6 FTE.
We are currently seeking experienced oncology nurses as well as those who are new to the specialty but have a strong interest in oncology nursing. We pride ourselves on providing the necessary support and upskilling to help you excel in this rewarding area of healthcare. You will be working within the Day Oncology unit, a vital part of the Redlands Mater Cancer Care Centre (MCCC).
Mater Private Redlands MCCC aims to offer all patients, regardless of their level of health insurance cover, access to a modern state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive and compassionate care that is individually personalised. The Cancer Centre includes consultation rooms, cancer care treatment pods, palliative care, support programs and a specialised pharmacy.
Salary range: $41.73 - $53.53 (RN1) per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
As a Registered Nurse your role will include, but is not limited to:
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout their journey and continuum of care
- Demonstrating clinical expertise in chemotherapy and targeted therapy administration, as well as central venous line management
- Implementing strategies to ensure quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills for continued professional growth
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
About you
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Current Day Oncology experience (highly regarded)
- A passion and interest for oncology nursing
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated awareness of and involvement in quality and risk management activities
