The Role

Air Training Systems Program Office (ATSPO) has roles available for APS 5 Administrative and Contracting Support Officers. These positions are based at the RAAF Base in East Sale Victoria in the heart of Gippsland.
In these roles, you will work with a team managing multiple commercial agreements for the delivery of Aviation Training Systems to the Australian Defence Force. The commercial agreements call for the delivery and maintenance of PC21 and B300 aircraft, Flight Training Devices (simulators) and Cockpit Procedural Trainers. The aircraft operate from Defence bases at East Sale, Perth, Williamtown NSW and Edinburgh SA. As an APS 5 in ATSPO, you will be given the unique opportunity to work in a high profile program within a diverse team to deliver to the Australian Defence Force, systems that are at the leading edge of Defence capability.
About our Team
As part of the Joint Aviation Systems Division (JASD) within CASG, the Air Training Systems Program Office (ATSPO) is located in Regional Victoria at the RAAF Base East Sale with an office also located at Brindabella Park in Canberra. Our Ideal Candidate
Our Ideal Candidate for this role should be able to:
- Advise and assist with contract administration tasks including the use of financial systems to undertake accounts payable functions and purchase order management whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy and compliance with legislation and policy.
- Demonstrate commitment to on-the-job training and participate in activities to build and maintain skills and systems knowledge, with a desire to continue to learn.
- Be team focused, support others and function in a collaborative environment.
- Have the ability to work within a high tempo environment and manage competing deadlines.
- Effectively communicate across various channels, including face-to-face, email and phone.
- Display well-developed oral, written communication and time management skills
- Display Defence values at all times.
Operating in a new, complex and constantly changing environment, you will actively adapt to seek innovative solutions and influence our stakeholders to achieve business outcomes. The ability to work independently, professionally, handle sensitive data and information, as well as the ability to adapt to competing priorities and have sound experience in the use of IT systems are considered essential. Individuals with a good understanding of contracting and accounts payable administration or a background in financial administration or customer service will be ideal for these roles. Experience using SAP or similar accounting systems is desirable but not mandatory.
