We are currently looking for a Cranes Operations Manager to oversee and grow our Crane Department. If you're a driven, experienced leader in crane operations and sales, this is your chance to make an impact at a fast-growing, nationally recognised company.
About the Role
The Cranes Operations Manager will play a critical role in driving the continued success and growth of Alfasi Hire's Crane Department. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Crane Department’s operations, including managing sales targets, expanding the customer base, and ensuring the operational excellence of our fleet. The position is based in Queensland but involves national travel to meet customer demands and explore business opportunities across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through active business development, introducing Alfasi Hire's crane equipment and services to new and existing clients.
Build and maintain relationships with customers, providing expert consultation on crane configurations, conducting lift studies, and ensuring the best solutions for their needs.
Prepare and present tailored proposals, quotes, and product solutions to clients to secure long-term dry hire opportunities.
Oversee crane operations, ensuring the fleet is well-maintained, and manage the procurement of new cranes.
Ensure smooth mobilisation and de-mobilisation of cranes, liaising with transport suppliers and clients, and providing AutoCAD drawings as required.
Lead and manage a dedicated crane team, ensuring efficiency, safety, and performance across operations.
Regularly report to Senior Management on sales performance, operational issues, market opportunities, and risks.
Travel as needed to manage sales inquiries, business opportunities, and crane mobilisation/demobilisation tasks.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in crane operations management, sales, or business development within the equipment hire industry.
Strong knowledge of crane fleet management, maintenance, and mobilisation processes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to develop and execute sales strategies to meet business targets.
Competence in preparing proposals, quotes, and lift studies for clients.
Proficiency in AutoCAD for crane drawings is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a team.
Ability to travel as required for business opportunities and customer requirements.
