We are a small but growing chartered accountant firm located on the northern beaches looking for a new team member to work closely with us. This role will be based in our office in Brookvale. We are looking for a long-term team member who will add value to our firm and grow with us.

The role

Working closely with the director, you will support our growing SME clients. You'll act as the primary liaison for all bookkeeping and administration needs for your allocated clients. You will need to be proactive and manage queries and bookkeeping tasks. You must have experience with bookkeeping and looking after multiple clients at one time. This is a service-oriented, customer centric role that will require someone who is friendly and capable of liaising with a growing group of clients in various industries. You must be able to switch between a large list of clients and therefore be very organised and structured.

Key Responsibilities

Daily/weekly/fortnightly bookkeeping for our growing bookkeeping database including

Managing tasks on set days/times each month

Reviewing client bookkeeping

General ledger maintenance

Bank reconciliations

Management of accounts payable and receivable

Payroll weekly, fortnightly and monthly

IAS and BAS preparation

Payroll Tax

Managing our retainer client list and ensuring all clients are up to date with their tax and accounting responsibilities

Collaborating with the directors and other team members to ensure that all necessary financial records are up-to-date and accurate

Communicating directly to clients regarding any outstanding tax, accounting and bookkeeping requirements well in advance of deadlines.

Responding to any queries, escalating where necessary to ensure a timely and accurate response

Ensuring our clients have an exceptional experience in every interaction

Providing support to clients in the use of accounting software tools and systems

Experience in Xero essential and open to learning other software that we use

You will be integral to process improvements as we grow
