Assistant Production Manager

This role will suit someone who is a bilingual speaker (English/Mandarin), and is a proactive, highly competent individual with a can-do attitude seeking long-term employment in a fast-growing company. It is a permanent position with a small, welcoming, and supportive team. We are looking for a candidate to start immediately.

As a Assistant Production Manager, you will ensure that procurement and sourcing and shipping are achieved in a cost-effective, timely, and professional manner. You will be required to perform tasks as required by supervisors or managers to support overall production goals.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Raising and sending of purchase orders for goods and services from suppliers according to our specifications and requirements

Liaising with customers and suppliers for all order issues

Receiving and reviewing purchase order confirmations and advising on variances

Monitoring and reporting on supplier performance using agreed measures

Requesting price and availability for goods and services from new and existing suppliers

Maintaining Master Data (Specification sheet for each item) and Purchasing information records

Reviewing and actioning requisitions for indent products

Advising the accounts manager for any issues that may affect the production plan

Maintaining and updating expected shipping dates and advising of delays

Supply Chain correspondence

Invoicing customers for all their orders and sending ship documents

Expediting for all local and international purchase orders

Various reporting, office and administrative support and ad hoc duties as required

Support national warehouses and Sales Managers

Assisting with monthly and yearly reports and stocktakes

Developing category strategy and collaborating with suppliers to ensure the business is maximizing value

Other accounts related tasks as directed by Production Manager

Reporting directly to Assistant Production Manager

Experience in Product Compliance

Experience and Skills Required:

5+ years of purchasing or similar experience is ideal

Fluency in Mandarin is a MUST

Basic understanding of the import-export logistics process is ideal

Proven experience in a fast-paced environment

Excellent time management skills

Strong communication and negotiating skills

Commercial analytical/reporting and numeracy skills

Ability to solve problems with consideration to business impact

Understanding of global business

Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel
