Hawkesbury Eco Asphalt Pty Ltd is a Batch Asphalt Production Plant located in South Windsor NSW and is owned and operated by a successful family working within the Asphalt industry for over 40 years.

The Asphalt Plant is strategically positioned to service the Blacktown, Penrith, Hawkesbury, Hills Shire Council areas and beyond.

Hawkesbury Eco Asphalt are currently seeking a Highly experienced Asphalt Plant Production Manager to come and join our team.

This is a Full Time Role with a competitive Salary Range of $145,000 - $160,000.

Located on Argyle Street South Windsor, NSW 2756.

Position Overview:

The Asphalt Plant Production Manager is responsible for managing the production of Asphalt construction materials operations to ensure a safe, efficient and cost effective operation. Ensures proper and efficient utilisation of all resources and equipment. Promotes Safety, Health and environmental, quality assurance and regulatory compliance programs.

About the Role and responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Shareholders of the business the Plant Production Manager will be responsible for but not limited to:

Extensive Asphalt Production Plant Knowledge,

Inspecting, testing services, and documentation for plant facilities,

Fault finding when breakdowns occur,

Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, facility managers, RMS personnel, State, Country, and Municipal Councils,

Optimisation of Plant Procedures

Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers,

Responsible for evaluation of volumetric data necessary for adjustments to mix production,

Create, Obtain and maintain mix design approval, in co-operation with Laboratory Manager,

And to ensure compliance for all applications and projects,

Oversees the management of plant operations for efficient and optimal production level, including scheduling of personnel and equipment,

Ensures all plant personnel are continuously trained to understand, promote, and follow WHSEQ standards and meet the zero incident/ zero loss goal and works with WHS Manager to promote a safe work environment that meets all State and Federal rules and regulations,

Management of staff, rostering and training all personal in accordance with internal training register requirements.

Provides direction and training to production personnel on efficient processing methods for maximum profit margin, while meeting safety, quality control, and regulatory standards,

Provides mentoring and coaching to employees. Works with HR to address personnel issues, including implementing steps in the progressive discipline policy.

Helps owners with identifying and developing operations and management talents,

Schedule and monitor equipment maintenance programs. Makes sure that plant personnel are properly trained on maintenance standards,

Quoting clients and following through with the sales process,

Assists in coordinating activities between Sales and Operations to ensure proper balance between production and inventory levels to serve the customers,

Assists in reviewing and monitoring daily and monthly production and financial reports for more cost-effective operations,

Develop and track the operating and capital budgets, improve and manage porfitability,

Assists in developing justification for unplanned items,

Participates in the development of short- and long-range business planning,

Leads the daily production meetings and weekly safety meetings,

Active participant in community relations and community outreach and educational programs in the plant area

Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for quality control. This will include testing Bitumen as well as RAP.

Sample and test mixtures to stay in compliance with contract, municipal and regional specifications and quality control tolerance,

Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate agency or customer,

Prepare and record accurate information,

Obtain required certifications in a timely manner,

Follow quality control plans and guidelines as assigned,

Work with Laboratory Manager to maintain NATA compliance standards relating to impartiality and non-interference clauses.

Working with WHSEQ and Laboratory Manager to maintain accreditation with ISO, NATA and TforNSW standards.

Follow directions of directors as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific duty.

Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate toots and equipment for the task,

Follow all company policies and WHSEQ regulations for safe working procedures,

Maintain industry relationships with LGP, Management and report on DA's and maintain positive community relationships with the Plant.

EPA stockpile reporting and maintaining Licencing and annual auditing reviews with EPA.

Delegate general cleaning of work areas,

Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required,

Prompt feedback to management on quality issues,

Assist with lot package preparation,

Other duties as required.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required:

5 plus years proven experience running an Asphalt Production Plant,

Leadership of a business or business function that has full accountability for all commercial, financial and operational streams,

Proven success in growing sales volumes while driving quality product delivery to clients,

Dealing with both internal and external suppliers and stakeholders,

A strong understanding of asphalt mix designs and asphalt production

Strong written and verbal communications, with exposure to board or senior management reporting,

Ideally qualifications in engineering/ business management or relevant business experience.
