Your new role
As Business Development Support at Apex Recruitment, you will play a key role in driving growth by directly supporting the Managing Director. Your primary responsibility will be to call warm leads generated by our sales team, scheduling meetings with prospective clients on his behalf. This role is essential in helping Apex maintain momentum across our high-performing recruitment operations by ensuring our leadership team remains client-focused and strategically engaged. You'll also manage the Managing Director's calendar, coordinate meeting logistics, and assist with light administrative tasks. While no cold calling is required, you'll need to be confident on the phone, capable of making a high volume of calls daily with professionalism and warmth. This role sits within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, making a direct contribution to Apex's consultative approach and long-term client partnerships. It's ideal for someone who thrives in a support role and wants to be closely involved in business development strategy.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Strong phone manner with the confidence to make high volume calls each day
- Proven ability to build rapport quickly and communicate professionally
- Experience in booking and coordinating meetings, ideally for senior stakeholders
- Willingness to participate in regular remote and in-person meetings with the Managing Director
- Highly organised with strong calendar and time management skills
- Comfortable with basic admin tasks including data entry and CRM updates
- Recruitment or sales experience highly advantageous
- Self-motivated and able to work independently within a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through on tasks
- Flexible availability to work 16-20 hours per week with autonomy over scheduling
- Marketing or automation experience highly advantageous
- Interest in long-term growth and contributing to a high-performance team culture
