Job description:
Lead a First-of-its-Kind Virtual Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service in Victoria
Be at the forefront of digital transformation in care delivery.
Northern Health is seeking a dynamic and visionary clinical leader to establish and run Victoria's inaugural Virtual Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service—a first-of-its-kind, digitally enabled model that's reshaping how we deliver care to people with chronic respiratory disease.
This is more than a service lead role—it's an opportunity to shape the future of rehabilitation in Victoria. You'll lead the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of a truly innovative model that puts outcomes, equity, and person-centred care at the core.
About Northern Health:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role:
You'll work alongside a committed interdisciplinary team and in close partnership with Northern Health's Clinical Leadership, Effectiveness and Outcomes (CLEO) team, the Respiratory Department, Allied Health, and Digital Health. Together, you'll deliver care that is evidence-based, digitally enabled, and scalable—using real-time data, remote monitoring, and patient-reported outcomes to drive meaningful impact across the health system.
We're looking for someone with advanced clinical expertise in pulmonary rehabilitation and a passion for transforming care—someone who is excited by the challenge of leading change, building high-performing teams, and pushing the boundaries of what virtual care can achieve.
This is your chance to lead a state-wide flagship initiative with the potential to set new standards in access, innovation, and value.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary Qualification in Allied Health- Physiotherapy
- Professional qualifications and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or relevant professional body
- Relevant post graduate qualification in clinical, project management, digital health or research higher degree or equivalent (or working towards)
- A minimum of seven years of relevant clinical and leadership experience
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in pulmonary rehabilitation delivery including exercise assessment, prescription and progression, across different range of respiratory conditions.
- Direct experience in managing complex projects in a program management capacity including implementing new technologies with proven success in timely project completion and budget management.
- Strong project management skills and experience supporting healthcare workers to deliver projects to a high standard.
- Proven experience partnering with clinicians and consumers in service improvement.
