Opportunity– Temporary (12 months) Part Time role (30.2 hours per week), based in the Hastings office. Band 8 - $125,613.37 per annum (pro rata, excl. super)

About the Role

This position is responsible for leading and managing major economic development projects on the Mornington Peninsula with a focus on attracting inward investment to the region and undertaking business-specific strategic land use planning projects.

Reporting to the Manager Economic Development the core responsibilities include:

Deliver the Westernport Futures project which will engage the community, develop a long-term economic vision, and set the direction for key projects in that region.

Undertake research to identify opportunities for attracting industries to the region including clean energy, advanced manufacturing, food production and visitor economy.

To contribute to a suite of resources aimed at promoting the Mornington Peninsula’s unique investment opportunities.

About You

Undergraduate degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

A minimum 4 years’ experience in a planning related field, economic development and/or investment attraction

Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Victoria Planning System and related legislation.

Demonstrated ability and experience in managing projects on time and within budget.
