The Operations Manager at Central Highlands Healthcare (CHH Ltd) is responsible for leading and coordinating the organisation’s daily operations, people development, and external engagement. This role plays a key part in fostering a high-performing, values-driven culture and ensuring that CHH delivers on its mission as a not-for-profit healthcare provider. The Operations Manager will work closely with the leadership team to drive organisational effectiveness, staff engagement, and community trust.
Core Responsibilities
People Development and Leadership
- Lead, coach, and support non-clinical staff to foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, performance reviews, and recognition programs.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations and ensure alignment with CHH values and strategic goals.
- Implement and refine systems and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Project Management
- Support the planning and execution of strategic and operational projects across CHH and EMG.
- Identify prospective projects that align with organisational growth, service expansion, or community needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope, resource, and monitor project progress.
- Assist in preparing project documentation including proposals, timelines, budgets, and evaluation reports.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and integrating feedback into future initiatives.
Organisational Leadership
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to support strategic planning and reporting.
- Contribute to internal governance, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Support cross-functional coordination between departments and services.
Community and External Engagement
- Promote CHH’s identity as a not-for-profit organisation through community engagement and outreach.
- Manage patient and stakeholder feedback processes to improve satisfaction and trust.
- Represent CHH in external forums, partnerships, and events as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, people leadership, or organisational development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on team building and collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, improve systems, and deliver results.
- High level of organisational and planning skills.
- Understanding of governance, compliance, and reporting in a not-for-profit or community setting.
Desirable
- Qualifications in business, leadership, or organisational development.
- Experience in community engagement or stakeholder relations.
- Familiarity with rural or regional service delivery environments.
