About the Role

We?re looking for an experienced HR professional to join our People and Culture team for a 12-month parental leave cover opportunity.

As a People and Culture Business Partner, you?ll be strategic, and commercially savvy and will partner with our Therapy Services and Business Support teams working across workforce planning, organisational design, and leadership capability uplift helping to embed a high-performing and inclusive culture aligned with Lifestart?s values.

You?ll also co-lead key P&C initiatives that drive enterprise-wide priorities including culture, talent, compliance, and operating model changes.

You will work closely with leaders to deliver people-focused solutions that enhance employee experience, uplift leadership capability, and drive culture and performance. This role is both strategic and hands-on ? supporting initiatives across recruitment, performance management, employee relations, engagement, systems improvement, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • ?Partner with leaders to align workforce strategy with business and service delivery goals
  • Lead targeted talent acquisition strategies and onboarding to meet market and operational demand
  • Deliver proactive, solutions-focused support in performance management, ER/IR, and wellbeing
  • Drive strategic P&C projects and frameworks across engagement, capability, compliance, and culture
  • Contribute to board-level reporting, remuneration benchmarking, and enterprise workforce planning
  • Enable a consistent and high-performing culture through coaching, systems, and process improvements
  • Support a collaborative, data-driven, and risk-aware HR practice within a regulated sector (NDIS)
  • Champion inclusion, safety, and leadership at all levels of the organisation
  • Provide advice on policies, awards, and legislation across the employee lifecycle
  • Coaching managers through performance reviews, grievances, complaints, and disciplinary processes
  • Managing workplace investigations, complaints, and injury/return-to-work processes
  • Other duties as reasonably required

About You - Skills and Experience

  • You?re a forward-thinking P&C leader who thrives in complex, purpose-led environments. You blend commercial acumen with people-first leadership and have the confidence to influence, challenge, and support senior stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Psychology or a related field
  • At least 5 years? experience in a generalist HR role (NDIS/disability/community sector experience highly regarded)
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment law, enterprise agreements and the Fair Work framework
  • Experience navigating workforce issues in regulated sectors, ideally with an understanding of allied health models
  • Proven ability to design and implement impactful people initiatives that drive business performance
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships
  • A consultative, coaching style with strong influencing and problem-solving capabilities
  • A balance of strategic thinking and operational execution
  • High levels of initiative, organisation and sound judgement
  • High emotional intelligence, resilience, and strong alignment with Lifestart?s values, with a genuine passion for inclusive, purpose-led work.

  • Valid Working with Children's Check (WWCC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC) Clearance (or willingness to obtain)

  • Willingness to travel to different Lifestart office locations
