Position Purpose

The Cosmetic Formulator/Product Development Coordinator will be integral to driving product development from concept to market. This dynamic role involves formulating and reverse-engineering products, sourcing raw materials, conducting R&D, and ensuring compliance with international regulatory standards. You will also handle global product registrations, support production processes, and maintain essential documentation, all while helping shape high-quality, innovative products for a global market.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in formulating and reverse-engineering products based on project briefs, ensuring alignment with company goals

Source and purchase raw materials from both local and international suppliers, ensuring cost-efficiency and quality

Assist n managing the product development process, managing timelines and ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards (e.g., COSMOS, Ecocert, ACO)

Produce lab-scale batches and assist with production, ensuring smooth transitions to large-scale manufacturing

Conduct stability testing and evaluate product properties, preparing detailed reports for assessment

Manage and execute global product registration processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in multiple markets

Maintain and update critical product documentation, including MSDS, specifications, and master formulations, while tracking project progress

Collaborate with marketing, design, and production teams to prepare launch materials and ensure a successful market introduction

Enter approved formulas into the ERP system, manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and ensure quality control for production batches

Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and comply with OH&S guidelines

Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field

Experience in skincare/formulation development, GMP, and quality control is an advantage

Creative, innovative, and passionate about skincare and cosmetics

Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify complex data for practical use

Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects with attention to detail

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments and with external vendors

Strong problem-solving ability, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards under pressure

Self-motivated and able to work independently, thriving in a dynamic environment
