The Opportunity
As an Insurance and Risk Officer, you'll report to the Coordinator Risk and be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and administration of Council's insurance program (excluding Workers Compensation and Motor Vehicle claims), including the coordination of annual insurance renewals and the efficient management of insurance claims.
You will work closely with Council's insurer to ensure accurate coverage, timely resolutions, and effective communication between all stakeholders. You will also provide valuable support in the implementation of Council's Risk Management Framework, contributing to risk-related initiatives and helping to embed sound risk practices throughout the organisation.

What you need to succeed? (Essential Criteria)
Solid experience working in an insurance environment and undertaking insurance activities.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and Council policy and procedures which relate to insurance and risk management.
Demonstrated practical commitment to Workplace Health and Safety.
High level proficiency in the use of computerised systems including Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Demonstrated experience in working in a multi-disciplined team environment.
Demonstrated practical experience in dealing with difficult customers including strong conflict resolution skills.
Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills
High attention to detail and ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines
Current C class drivers' licence
Be willing to undergo national police check prior to commencement
