Catholic Schools NSW (CSNSW) is the peak representative body and system authority for Catholic schools in NSW.
CSNSW is the approved Registration System Authority for NSW diocesan Catholic schools. It is responsible for monitoring the compliance of the system’s member schools in accordance with the school registration and accreditation requirements of the Education Act 1990 (‘the Act’) and as prescribed by NESA in the NESA Registration and Accreditation Manual for systemic schools (‘the Manual’). Ensuring compliance with the school registration and accreditation requirements of the Act and the Manual remains the responsibility of the respective school proprietors, dioceses and the member schools.
Primary Purpose of the role
A role is available in our School Registration unit for an experienced Compliance and Risk Officer. This position is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, School Registration and Accreditation (‘the Senior Manager’) and, more broadly, the Head of Education Policy and Regulation, to ensure that CSNSW functions effectively as the single registration system authority for the Catholic education sector.
This is a permanent full time position with the expectation that you are willing and able to work from the office located in Sydney CBD.
Key responsibilities
Support the Senior Manager and Head of Education Policy and Regulation to ensure the effective functioning and management of the Registration System
Assist with CSNSW’s management of compliance and risk in executing its function as the approved authority for the registration and accreditation of Catholic schools in NSW
Maintain information systems to assist in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of CSNSW’s policy documentation and records
Prepare high quality correspondence and other documents in a timely fashion to support the operations of the CSNSW School Registration System.
Work collaboratively within a team environment to support the production of timely and accurate materials for consideration by the CSNSW Registration System
Demonstrate competent word processing and database skills, including the ability to review data.
Assist with the maintenance of CSNSW resources and other related tasks that contribute to the effective daily operation of the Registration System
Consult with the Senior Manager to ensure specific needs are met and the optimum service of the Registration System is being achieved, including consistency and timing of meetings, schedules, agendas and reporting requirements.
Essential Criteria
Prior experience or proven generalist skills in risk and compliance reporting, or experience in registration systems or framework will be favourably considered.
Relevant qualifications/experience
Commitment to maintaining privacy, confidentiality and dealing respectfully with all information related to school registration
Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting timeframes.
Highly developed interpersonal skills for effective and timely communication
Ensure current Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
Empathy with and support for the mission, ethos and beliefs of Catholic schools and the communities they serve
