Your new role

We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative repository specialist to join Curtin Library as our new Coordinator, Research Services. In this role, you’ll manage Curtin’s Institutional Repository, and play a key part in strategic projects, including the implementation of new platforms for Curtin’s Institutional Repository and researcher profiles.

You will lead the development and management of the institutional repository service, provide expert advice and strategic leadership on projects that align with the University’s research priorities, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will work with a team of specialists to ensure that researchers and higher degree by research (HDR) students receive high-quality training and support on current and emerging Library research services.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact, shaping the future of Library research services and contributing to the success of Curtin’s vibrant research community.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with the team, university stakeholders and the vendor to implement and deliver a new repository platform and researcher profile system.
  • Develop expert knowledge in institutional, subject and data repositories.
  • Develop and deliver training for Library staff, researchers, and HDR students, integrating advocacy and expert knowledge in open research and FAIR principles.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align library services with university strategies.
  • Coordinate the design, resourcing, benchmarking, evaluation, and reporting of Library research services and related initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and management of staff.

We are looking for (Selection Criteria):

  • Completion of a relevant degree with considerable experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of institutional, subject and data repositories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt communication styles to differing audiences and the ability to form meaningful networks across the library, university and nationally.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage projects, solve problem and work within timeframes.
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation skills, including experience as trainer.
  • Professional qualification in librarianship (desirable).

Role Requirements:

  1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
