Why This Role is Different

This isn’t just about managing numbers—it’s about building the financial engine of a business that’s going places. As our Finance Manager, you’ll report directly to the General Manager and work closely with our Business Directors to lead financial operations across all three entities.

You’ll have the autonomy to refine processes, overhaul systems, and drive strategic planning—while still keeping a close eye on the day-to-day. If you love getting your hands dirty in the detail but also want to shape the bigger picture, this is your role.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead end-to-end financial operations across all entities: AP, AR, payroll, GL, cash flow, BAS/GST, FBT, and statutory lodgements

Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting with variance and trend analysis

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and rolling reforecasts in collaboration with project teams

Monitor WIP, job costing, and project profitability across commercial and multi-residential projects

Ensure compliance with AASB, tax law, payroll, and super obligations

Manage external audits and maintain a strong internal control environment

Drive process improvement using Xero, SimPro, and automation tools

Apply capitalisation rules and manage lease accounting and tenancy recharges

Identify financial risks and implement governance best practices

Manage bookkeeping functions to ensure accurate financial data entry and compliance across tax, regulatory, and industry standards

Manage day-to-day transactions while driving long-term financial strategy

Collaborate with Directors to provide insights that guide business decisions

Spearhead the overhaul of our financial systems—streamline reporting, automate workflows, and build scalable processes

What You’ll Bring

CPA or CA qualification or equivalent (essential)

3-5 years’ experience in a finance role (ideally in construction, civil, plumbing, or project-based Industries)

Strong working knowledge of modern ERP Platforms and advanced Excel Skills (Xero and SimPro experience a bonus)

A passion for systems improvement and process design

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution

Deep understanding of Australian accounting standards, tax, payroll, and compliance

A commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence decisions
