What you will do

You will professionally and personally exemplify integrity, excellence, and accountability; and champion the MSQ values. The key duties and responsibilities of this role include:
Oversee the efficient and effective operation of all financial management systems, and ensure compliance to the Financial Accountability Act 2009 (Queensland).
Prepare annual budgets and cash flow forecasts, and prepare monthly management and annual statutory financial reports in accordance with requirements.
Manage and monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, accrual journals, prepare ATO reporting, providing regular reports to the leadership team.
Subject matter expert providing advice, direction and assistance on requests and issues relating to budget and finance management, with the ability to clearly describe the rationale behind decisions and recommendations.
With the CEO and executive leadership team, manage MSQ’s risk management and compliance program, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory, legislative, and procedural obligations, including WHS obligations.
Manage engagement with, and provision of information to external auditors.
Maintain and actively promote the application and use of corporate policies, practices and systems and record-keeping.
Provide guidance and support to build the capability of the team in governance, finance, and record-keeping.
With the CEO and executive leadership team, assist with the efficient and effective operation of all IT, human resource (HR) and payroll systems and practices.
Develop written plans, reports, and documents clearly and concisely, in line with policy and procedures.

For this role, we will consider how well you demonstrate the capabilities critical to the performance of a manager, focussing on:
Demonstrated knowledge and depth of experience in financial and business operational management.
Highly organised, proactive, and a natural planner and problem solver with the ability to prioritise, and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail coupled with excellent risk management skills to ensure quality of data, briefings and governance documents, and delivery of high standards of work in line with policy and procedures.
Uphold integrity through responsible management and use of processes and resources, using diplomacy, tact, and sound judgement on sensitive and confidential matters.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in using electronic information systems (Microsoft Suite, plus other information management platforms); and experience with Content Manager or similar records management software is highly advantageous.
Finance degree/qualifications with demonstrated management experience in corporate services and/or business operational management.
Experience with government processes/legislation, and working directly with a CEO and Board would be highly regarded.
