Finance leadership role, managing end-to-end function for a worthwhile cause

Tier 1 Community housing provider supporting over 2,500 vulnerable people

Parramatta location, close to public transport, with hybrid working. Paying to $130k + super + full FBT packaging.

Our client is a not-for-profit Tier 1 Community Housing Provider committed to providing safe, secure, and affordable housing for those most in need. With over 1,500 homes, sheltering 2,500 people, they believe housing is more than a roof over one’s head, it’s the foundation for hope, dignity, and inclusion.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO and managing a finance team of six, the key responsibilities will be to:

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, AASB) and internal policies.

Manage the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting.

Support budgeting, financial modelling, and forecasting activities.

Oversee grant reporting and ensure funds are used in line with donor guidelines.

Assist in annual audits and statutory financial reporting.

Supervise and support the Finance team (Accountant, Accounts Payable/Receivable).

Contribute to strategic initiatives and finance-related projects.

Maintain bank relationships and monitor funding arrangements.

Your Background

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role (not-for-profit experience preferred).

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related field and CPA/CA qualification.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central highly regarded).

Excellent time-management, communication, and reconciliation skills.
