About the role
The Manager, Infrastructure Planning and Project Delivery reports to the Director, Facilities and Projects and provides strategic leadership in planning, prioritising, and delivering capital infrastructure initiatives for the South Australian Government. The role ensures resources are effectively allocated and projects align with broader government investment priorities.
Using data-driven insights, the Manager supports forward planning by leveraging infrastructure performance and asset utilisation metrics. The role positions infrastructure as a key enabler of government policy, economic development, and community outcomes through the effective management of public assets.
A collaborative and inclusive leader, the Manager drives high team performance through strategic workforce planning, capability development, and continuous improvement. The role also contributes to sector-wide infrastructure reform by addressing systemic challenges and leading cross-agency solutions that improve infrastructure performance and delivery.
Key Outcomes of the role include
- Oversee the development and improvement of TAFE SA’s Capital Infrastructure Planning Framework and Project Delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and government policy.
- Lead the planning, prioritisation, and resource allocation for the annual Capital Infrastructure Plan, delivering projects on time and within budget to support educational outcomes.
- Provide expert advice to the TAFE SA Executive and sub-committees, contributing to government submissions, business cases, and ministerial briefings on capital investment.
- Review and improve infrastructure planning policies, systems, and frameworks to align with organisational strategy and operational needs.
- Promote and implement technical and design standards that drive innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement, supported by strong performance evaluation measures.
- Lead initiatives to enhance capital planning and asset management maturity, using performance and lifecycle data to guide strategic decisions.
- Build a collaborative, high-performing team through inclusive leadership, workforce development, and effective change management.
- Contribute to leadership forums and work with peers to ensure consistent decision-making and address complex infrastructure challenges across teams.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Out of hours work may be required.
- Some intrastate/ interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in the department’s Performance Development Program.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
