An opportunity for you has come about to lead a motivated HR Business Partnering team in SAPOL.

The Manager, HR Business Partnering is responsible for leading the Business Partnership function across SAPOL to provide a specialist strategic and complex advisory service to executive, senior leaders and employees across a suite of HR services which contributes to the achievement of SA Government and SAPOL’s strategic goals and priorities.

The Manager, HR Business Partnering will lead a team of HR professionals to deliver a best practice Business Partnering model while taking a whole of agency view ensuring contemporary and appropriate responses to emerging workforce changes and challenges being experienced across SAPOL.

You will have three direct reports, two Lead HR Business Partners who supervise four HR Business Partners each, and a Team Leader, Admin HR Support who supervises a team of Assistant HR Consultants responsible for non-police recruitment.

You will also work with a close leadership team, reporting to Officer in Charge, HR Operations and Partnering and working closely alongside the Manager, HR Systems and the Manager, HR Operations.

About you
To be successful in the role you will have:

Current or previous extensive experience working in a HR role within the South Australian Public Sector.

Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in Human Resource Management or other relevant discipline.

Ability to provide high level of interpersonal, leadership and management skills which engender trust, cooperation and confidence in customers and staff, and which gain the commitment of others to change.

Ability to identify, foster and promote change and organisational development strategies and initiatives, and manage, lead and initiate change management processes in a challenging environment.

Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders to facilitate outcomes required by the organisation. This will include the ability to present to groups of clients and manage responses and issues as they arise.

Demonstrated high level effective written and verbal communication skills, and able to negotiate and liaise effectively with senior management, executive level staff and employee associations and industrial forums to ensure positive outcomes for the organisation.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the preparation of high-level reports, submissions, and policies to provide resolution to HR gaps within the organisation achieving successful outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to critically analyse situations, think laterally and develop creative and practical solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business outcomes.

Demonstrated experience in the provision of leadership, direction and expert advice to senior management and executive levels on a wide range of strategic Human Resource Management matters not limited to succession planning, talent management, recruitment and selection, coaching & development, change management, performance management, position management, conflict resolution, grievances, redeployment and employee misconduct, consistent with the relevant industrial framework, practices and procedures.

Demonstrated experience in the leadership of staff to ensure effective and efficient HR operations and business partnering in an organisation.

Demonstrated experience in driving, implementing and developing HR initiatives and programs to achieve best outcomes for the wider organisation.

Promoting, fostering and maintaining positive and beneficial networks and relationships, establishing credibility with clients and stakeholders, within the public and private sectors.

Special Conditions

The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.

The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.

Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.

The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.

Salary
MAS3 - $127,859 per annum.
