The Wilderness Group comprises of seven major companies, working together to provide outdoor education and adventure-based tourism experiences that encourage personal development and provide fun, outdoor learning opportunities.
The Tourism Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in driving and facilitating adventure-based tourism experiences in both the domestic and international markets.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Support the CEO to develop new products and grow existing products in line with the ethos of The Wilderness Group.
Stakeholder engagement, building relationships with key partners in industry and Government
Write content and review marketing materials and support marketing with the development of digital and non-digital collateral and advertising for the market
Work with the distribution network, to develop and maintain positive relationships with all levels of the network to increase sales and quality clients
Identify opportunities for business growth and further product development.
Establish rate sheets and commissions for products and work closely with Online Travel Agencies, wholesalers and Inbound Tour Operators
Attend after hours industry networking events as necessary
Managing bookings and reservations system
Monitor and enhance visitor experience by managing customer satisfaction feedback channels, including online reviews and direct guest input
Regularly analyse feedback to highlight opportunities for improvement. Use visitor experience insights to develop and deliver targeted staff training and development to improve service standards and overall guest satisfaction
Development of quotes and agreements, follow budgets with the organisation’s guidelines using existing quote documents with all brands
Skills required:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital along with a high standard of personal presentation as this role will interface regularly with a number of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience and understanding of the domestic and international travel market
Previous sales experience would be advantageous
Ability to think strategically and translate that to daily operations
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Strategic leadership as well as being hands-on and jumping in where needed
Knowledge of the adventure-based tourism industry is valued, though not essential
A pro-active attitude with the ability to prioritise

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, possible extension to 24th Months for Maternity Leave Cover.
This is currently being offered part time, either three days a week or during school hours, depending on candidate.
We offer remuneration in line with experience
All offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory South Australian Working with Children's Check.
