Beachcomber Cafe in St Kilda is looking for an experienced Chef . The position is full time position with at least a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

We are a successful run café based in the heart of St Kilda beach. Our focus is on modern Australian cuisine with Mediterranean influence.

Skills and Experience:

Successful candidate will need :

· To be enthusiastic and passionate about creating new dishes for our restaurant menu.

· Flexible and adaptable to move with the trends

· Preferably have experience in modern Australian, Mediterranean style cuisine and seafood.

· Be able to work within a large team in the kitchen, with periods of high volume service and have the ability to teach new kitchen staff their roles .

About the role skills and experience required

· Monitoring dish quality at all stages of cooking and preparation

· Develop and test new recipes . Update the menu according to seasonal produce.

· Maintain product, service and market knowledge

· Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout kitchen

· Ability to direct, supervise and lead the staff.

· Have strong customer service skills

· Have the ability to allocate tasks

· Work well under pressure

· Be an Australian citizen/resident or hold an appropriate working visa (with the possibility of sponsorship to the right candidate)

Salary ranging from 95k plus
