ABOUT THE JOB
This Traineeship a two-year program, where we will support you to complete a Certificate IV Legal Services. As the Trainee Land Administration Officer you will gain technical knowledge, develop valuable skills and gain hands on experience in Valuation and Property Development with a focus on the acquisition, divestment, road closure, road leases and miscellaneous licenses on behalf of Council.
In this role, we will support you to:
Respond and assist as part of a team to referrals for comment or advice from other Council departments and undertake investigations to resolve complaints and answering queries raised by external parties.
Assist the team in the identification of suitable development opportunities.
Participate in the facilitation of the Property Referrals Meeting on a monthly basis, including preparation of meeting agenda and minutes.
Investigate and assist with requests for road closure and their purchase (following closure), including liaison with regard to preparation of reports to Council; survey and plan endorsement and sale.
Participate in the administration when purchasing or disposing of Council owned land, and the creation and or management of easements and other interests in land where required.
Assist with the dedication and transfer of public roads, and the management of miscellaneous licence and lease agreements and road leases
This position may involve travel to multiple areas within Lake Macquarie. You will be required to work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Paid study time will be provided within your standard work hours.

WHAT WE OFFER
Receive a wage whilst studying towards a qualification starting from $855.38 per week plus 12 per cent superannuation
Payment of all course fees
Paid time to study and attend compulsory classes
Yearly pay reviews and increases based on performance
35 hour working week with nine-day fortnight
Four weeks paid annual leave

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for people who:
Have a minimum of successful completion of year 12 or equivalent
Are customer focused with good organisation skills and strong attention to detail
Welcome challenges with your flexible approach, a positive work ethic and a "can-do" attitude
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment in an efficient and cooperative manner.
Have an interest in the Valuation and Property Development professions
Are comfortable using computers and learning new systems
Hold a minimum of Provisional Drivers License
