Senior Policy Officers | Multiple Position | NSW Government

• $600 - $900 p/d + super (based on experience)
• Mascot / WFH (hybrid working)
• Contracts until end of 2025 with extensions

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Support the development, implementation and evaluation of policy initiatives with a focus on Closing the Gap outcomes. Provide policy advice and contribute to improved service delivery by conducting analysis, research, and stakeholder engagement across government programs.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead and contribute to policy development, review and implementation aligned with program objectives
• Undertake research and analysis to identify emerging issues, risks and evidence-based solutions
• Prepare policy documents, reports, briefing notes and correspondence for internal and external use
• Provide expert policy advice to support decision making and program delivery
• Support culturally sensitive engagement with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies to ensure intended outcomes are met
• Foster a safe and inclusive working environment that values Aboriginal culture and perspectives

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in government policy development and implementation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders
• Proven analytical and research skills with ability to deliver evidence-based advice
• Experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Tertiary qualifications in a related field or equivalent experience
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and ability to work respectfully with communities
